How to Add an Extra Attempt on a Quiz or Exam

You can give students an extra attempt to retake a quiz or an exam. You will have access to any extra attempts, but only the latest submission will be posted to the gradebook.

To do that, follow these steps:

1. Open the quiz or test that needs to be retaken:

2. Click “moderate this quiz” on the right side:

3. Click the pencil icon at the end of the student name:

4. You should get the following screen:

5. Enter any number of extra attempts and check “Manually unlock the quiz for the next attempt”

6. Save your changes
